The Marmot Trestles 30 Degree sleeping bag is an affordable, no-frills offering for summer or mild weather camping. The synthetic fill makes this bag a good option even in damp or humid conditions. The Trestles 30 Degree is insulated with Marmot’s proprietary Spirafil 120 synthetic fill. A unique blend of 3Denier and 1Denier polyester fibers, Spirafil 120 is warm and compressible. Unlike down fill, this breathable, fast-drying insulation is water-resistant and provides warmth even when wet. This is particularly important if you’ll be backpacking or camping in wet weather or humid climates. Wave baffle construction eliminates cold spots and provides comfort. A contoured, ergonomic hood mirrors the design of Marmot’s popular outerwear jackets, helps reduce heat loss and keeps your head warm and comfortable. A draft tube sewn behind the zipper keeps cold air from reaching the inside of the sleeping bag and zipper guards help to avoid irritating and damaging snags. An integrated stash pocket provides a convenient storage option for keys, contacts or other small items. Marmot’s patented Trapezoid Foot Box is wider at the toes and narrower at the heels, providing a more natural fit and improving warmth and comfort. In addition to the full-length zipper, a second, shorter section of zipper on the opposite side of the sleeping bag allows the top of the bag to fold down, increasing ventilation on warm nights. The Doubler places the zippers on the edges of your bag and the extra space provides the luxurious feeling of sleeping in a bed. It is possible to sleep back-to-back with your knees pulled up. The Sweetie Pie Bag Doubler was designed to accommodate the varying needs of bicyclists, kayakers, rock climbers, backpackers, and family campers. The Doubler allows you to create your own custom sleeping system and can be used on top of or underneath your bag. (We recommend using the Doubler on the bottom when mated with a down sleeping bag.) This enables you to use your favorite sleeping bag year-round in a variety of weather conditions.
The 3-season Doubler is made with a full-length 70″ YKK #8 coil separating zipper, 50 denier Ripstop Nylon, two layers of Polarguard 3D insulation with off-set stitching, and built in draft tubes along the zipper. The result is a highly compressible pie that is lightweight, breathable, absorbs little moisture, and retains loft even when wet.
IMPORTANT UPDATED 2009 Compatibility issues:
the Doubler is compatible with many mummy style sleeping bags made between 2000-2008 using a full-length YKK #8 coil separating zipper; this includes bags from Sierra Designs, North Face, Marmot, REI, and North Face. See our website for full list of compatible sleeping bags.
